Shelly Plus Plug S is a compact smart plug with many built-in features. Plug Plus S has a powerful ESP32 processor, a 12 A relay and a built-in power meter, so you can easily monitor your electricity consumption.

The Shelly Plus Plug S is designed to plug into existing wall sockets, enabling the intelligent control of non-smart devices such as floor lamps. It can also be used to eliminate the standby power consumption of TVs, PlayStations and similar devices, or to increase safety by automatically turning off the iron after a few minutes of use. If you only want to use the device to monitor the power consumption of appliances such as a freezer or a refrigerator, you can also set a PIN code on the Plus Plug S outlet so that they cannot be accidentally turned off via the app. The Shelly Plus Plug S is equipped with a bright LED circle on the front that visualizes energy consumption by switching between green, yellow and red colors. Of course, the light can also be turned off or used as a night light when you or the children wake up at night.

The Shelly Plus Plug S can be connected to the Internet or a local 2.4 GHz WiFi network. In addition, the device has built-in Bluetooth, like all Pro and Plus devices, which allows the Shelly Plus Plug S to be used as a gateway to other Shelly Bluetooth devices. Plus Plug S works locally without connecting to Shelly Cloud, but it is recommended to activate it for easy data storage and functionality. The device can also communicate via MQTT, HTTP and WebSocket.

The device is equipped with 2nd generation hardware, which includes a powerful ESP32 processor and improved safety features such as overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage and overload protection. It also enables the use of scripting functions for advanced and custom functions and range extension function with the device.

Shelly's smart home products support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant virtual assistants. In addition to the ones mentioned above, several other smart home systems/platforms are also supported (make sure product-specific compatibility). Shelly's products are connected to a wireless Wi-Fi network and do not need a separate home automation controller to operate.
